HOLY COW!   Stunning very early John Wayne appearance.

Just 27 years old John Wayne in one of his earliest roles.  And this particular vintage half sheet exhibits one of the vest images of the Duke Ive ever seen!   This half sheet is truly a rare gem.   It has been professionally paperback so none of the heavy fold lines that all half sheets had.   There is still some wear like some from the middle fold line .   But, for an 83 year old theater used movie poster the relatively minor flaws just adds character and an added touch of authenticity to this beauty!   The first time we have eev seen this half sheet in 37 years collecting.   Very good condition. The Trail Beyond (Monogram, 1934). Half Sheet (22" X 28").
Rod Drew (C) and his pal Wabi (Noah Beery Jr.) set out to find the missing daughter of Drew's friend. Along the way, they find a map to Drew's partner's gold mine that another gang has been trying to get. Shot in Kings Canyon National Park in central California, this was one of the better entries in the series of Westerns Wayne made for Monogram. This half sheet features a superb image of Wayne with his horse. It has been minimally restored, with touchup to the folds. Other signs of handling include small tears in the bottom border, pinholes in the borders, a small blemish in the trees, and a top right corner bend. There is wear to the center vertical fold. Very Good/Fine on Paper.
