CASSIUS CLAY Decks ARCHIE MOORE, 1962
Original Vintage Wire Photo (7x9")

1962 Wire Photo CASSIUS CLAY Decks ARCHIE MOORE Ring Action !
his one is for making me do em' DISHES !

A Vintage 1962 Wire Photograph issued by United Press International depicting a young Cassius Clay throwing a hard punch to Archie Moore. Moore had been Clay's trainer for a time, but Clay became dissatisfied and left Moore because of Moore's attempts to change his style and his insistence that Clay do dishes and help clean gym floors !

The brash young boxer they called the Louisville Lip had rhymed that "Archie Moore ... must fall in four". The veteran boxer replied that he had perfected a new punch "The Lip-Buttoner". In the end, as Clay predicted Moore, his former trainer, was beaten by a knockout in four rounds. Fine 7” x 9” action shot with the original press stamp on the verso that shows Clay 'dishing' it out on Moore's head. There were no 'moore' dishes for Cassius to do after this one was over.
